Biography:
Dr. Wei-Chih Chen is an attending physician in the Department of Chest Medicine at Taipei Veterans General Hospital since 2013. He also serves as Director of the Respiratory Care Center at the hospital and is an assistant professor at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. Dr. Chen completed his MD at National Yang Ming University in 2006 and pursued residency and fellowship training in Department of Respiratory Therapy and Chest Medicine at Taipei Veterans General Hospital. He earned his PhD in Institute of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University .

His research interests mainly focused on pulmonary infection, mechanical ventilation, ARDS, and pulmonary fibrosis. He has more than 60 publications and numerous awards, including the best oral presentation from the Taiwan Society of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He has also been recognized as a best teacher multiple times by National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University and Taipei Veterans General Hospital.

Dr. Chen is actively involved in pulmonary and critical care societies and he is currently serving as the Deputy Secretary General of the Taiwan Society of Critical Care Medicine.
