Biography:
Nigel is a Clinical Educator at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Postgraduate Critical Care Program of Austin Health in Melbourne. He has worked in critical care since 1992 and holds a PhD in Critical Care Nursing as well as a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Education.
Nigel has led numerous research and quality improvement initiatives in the field of intensive care and has been invited as a keynote speaker at scientific conferences across Australia, the United States, Europe, and Asia. He has completed a research-based master’s degree and is currently pursuing a PhD in collaboration with Griffith University, focusing on circuit life in continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
He has published more than 60 papers covering renal replacement therapy, blood purification techniques, liver support therapy, ICU quality, and educational activities. Nigel has served as a clinical research specialist for over 19 years and continues to work at Austin Health to this day.
