Biography:
Dr. Chiryang Chung is a Professor of Medicine at Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine and an attending physician in the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Samsung Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea. He is dual board-certified in critical care and pulmonary medicine, and his primary clinical and research interests include ICU rehabilitation, delirium, and long-term outcomes in critically ill patients.
Dr. Chung currently serves as the Director of the Research Committee at the Korean Society of Critical Care Medicine (KSCCM) and is the President-elect of the Korean ICU Rehabilitation Society. He is also a founding steering committee member of the Asia-Pacific ICU Rehabilitation Network, where he collaborates with regional leaders to promote early mobilization and post-ICU recovery across diverse healthcare systems.
In 2018–2019, Dr. Chung was a visiting scholar in Professor Dale Needham's research team at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he engaged in collaborative research focused on ICU survivorship and rehabilitation.
